Therefore, 24th September is celebrated every year as NSS Day with appropriate programmes and activities. In pursuance of the National Scheme to\u00a0inculcate feeling of service\u00a0towards\u00a0nation\u00a0and understanding\u00a0of national priorities\u00a0amongst youth\u00a0a vision of National Service Scheme\u00a0came in to existence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">While NSS was started in the college from the year 2015-16, with one unit of 50 students. But now college has one unit of 100+ students. The overall aim of National Service Scheme is to give an extension to the higher education system and orient the student youth to community service while they are studying in educational institutions. The reason for the formulation of this objective is the general realization that the college and +2 level students have a tendency to get alienated from the village\/slums which constitute the majority for the population of the country. The educated youth who are expected to take the reins of administration in future are found to be unaware of the problems of the village\/slum community and in certain cases it is necessary to arouse the social conscience of the students, and to provide them an opportunity to work with the people in the villages and slums. It is felt that their interaction with the common realities of life and bring about a change in their social perception.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><u>NSS Unit in Govt. Degree College, Bhatronjkhan <\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">01 Unit (Boys &amp; Girls)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><u>Objectives of NSS<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Understand the community in which students work.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>Understand themselves in relation to their community.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>Develop a sense of social and civic responsibility among students.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>Gain skills in mobilizing community participation.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and practice national integration and social harmony.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><u>Health Check-up &amp; Blood Donation Awareness<em> Camp\u00a0<\/em><\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Till date three Health Check-up &amp; Blood Donation Awareness<em> Camp\u00a0<\/em>have been organized in collaboration with CHC Bhatronjkhan &amp; Ayush Department Bhatronjkhan on 23<sup>rd<\/sup> Nov 2021 , 25<sup>th<\/sup> Feb. 2022 and 22 Nov 2022. The camp was preceded by an awareness drive for about a week during which special lecturers on the importance of voluntary donation of blood were organized in the college. Apart from the Health Check-up Programme, NSS volunteer are motivated by health department for blood donation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><u>One Day Camps<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">One Day camps holds an important position in the NSS programs. Five such camps are organized during each year with the following objectives.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">To provide an exposure of realities of life in rural and semi-rural areas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>To sharpen the skills of rapport formation, situational analysis and awareness generation in the community.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>To sharpen the skill of group living and to initiate the development of attitudes conducive for effective team work.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>To develop organizational and leadership skills among the NSS volunteers.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><u>\u00a0<em>Special Camp<\/em><\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">A 7-days special camp is organized every year in the month of Feb-March. 50 NSS volunteers participate in the camp.
